After my enlistment was over in March, 1970, I finished my studies at Oregon State University and graduated with a BS in Forest Management. The theme of book is that experience in Vietnam may have effected my life as I raised my own family. The book is built around a serious of five poems, titled "The Listening Post ...." I held several positions many of which are described in the book. The positions were all, at least, indirectly related to the natural resources and/or environmental fields. I am now retired after approximately thirty years in working in those fields in the State of Washinigton. Delma and I have three grown children and two grandchildren. We currently make our home in Prosser, Washington, where we have lived for approximately twenty-two years.
About The Author
I was raised in Chillicothe, Ohio before going away to college. Many of the chapters and events chronicled in book are my memories of my life in Chillidothe and some of the family vacations during that time of my life.  I will never forget those vacations.  Each year we traveled, camped, and sailed our little boat in forty-two of the fifty states.
After graduating from college at Miami University with BA degree in Botany, I went to Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon to get a degree in Forest Management. It was while I was there that I met Delma. Delma and I were married in May, 1967. Shortly after we were married, I went into the Army and served in Vietnam from November, 1967 until November 1968.
